Fort Building 101

Well, last night Cub Scouts Pack 129 Den 4, Tiernan's den had a meeting, and the mai event was fort building.

Next week, Monday December 17th is the monthly Pack Meeting, and each boy is to bring a bag of men's long socks, each pair is toe be rolled into a ball. After the annoucements and all that, each Den will bring out and set up the Fort they built this week, and the boys will have a sockball fight. After the fight, the socks will all be donated to the Backstreet Mission here in Bloomington. Good way to teach the boys the merits of community serive and allow them some fun at the same time.


This is Tiernan working on the Fort. Now, this thing was completely built our of cardboard and duct tape! It is hugh though and I think the boys were pretty proud of themselves!
I know that as a parent, I think they did a great job. After building the fort, with parent help, each boy made at least one shield for themselves, if not two or three! They are all looking forward to the Sockball fight next week!
