Have you heard about this site called Pay Per Post?
word of mouth ethics
Well, get this, they actually pay you to do what you love to do, post things on your blogs! I mean really, how much easier could it be! They give you the instructions, like your opinon or review of a product or website or opportunity and you take it from there. You get to write about it from your prespective and your experience. Now how great is that! I mean, if you have been reading my blog at all before now, you know that I love to share my opinon and experiences with everyone, so this is like the most perfect thing I have ever come across.
I am trying to think back to where I found this site, and I can't remember for sure, but I am pretty sure I was surfing around all those offers to earn money. You know they ones that never actually earn you anything, but promise you the world, so when I came across this, I wasn't sure, but I checked out the requirements, checked out the reviews and what others were saying about it and how many people they had, and it looked better and better all the time. So I thought, why not give it a try, what have I got to lose?
Now that I have my blog aprroved, yes they check out your blog in their acceptance process, so you actually have to have a real blog that you make a good effort at maintaining with real writing, not just pay me posts. Another thing that makes me feel better about them, the fact that they are wanting real people who really want to write. Anyway, now that I am aprroved I am looking forward to browsing on their website and meeting other people and seeing what they think. More importantly I am looking forward to getting tips on my writing, because you know that right now I tend to write like I am talking to a friend, but I would love to be more professional in my writing and also to do it more often. I can't wait to see how this all turns out.

Brownie Troop 441
Thanks for all you help last night parents!
The council office is closed the last two weeks of the year, and they do inventory in December, so they let things run low so as not to have the extra inventory on hand, which is why they were out of the pins and patches. I have them ordered and as soon as they come in I will get them to the girls. Also, now that I know they do this, I will not be caught off-guard again by this.
Cookie Sales: Everyone signed the permission slips last night, thank you so much. I will be calling you all with more details, once I check in with my leader advisor and bringing you the cookie forms. Sales start on Jan 1, but please do not sale early.
Skating Party: I will have the permission slips for the District skating party at the next meeting and you can fill one out if you think you might go. I have to have one on file for every girl that attends, so even if you are not sure if they will go or not, if there is a chance, please fill one out at the meeting.
Music Program at IU: There is a music program at IU that is geared for the Browines in early Feb, I think it is the 9th, a couple hours and they will get a Try-It Badge. No obligation to go, but I know that Maeve will love this one, and I need to register by the end of Jan, hopefully there will still be spots left, so think about that. I will give you more information at the next meeting, also I will need at least one parent to accompany me on the trip until we get a new co-leader.
Day ON for Martin Luther King Day: I guess school is out that day, and there is a program running for the day, the girls will learn to knit and then knit hats for charity. I will be working that day, but if you are interested in your daughter going, let me know and we might be able to work it out with another troop that isgoing to let her go along.
Now...as you might notice, I have a new list on the side with upcoming dates for the troop. I will continue to use my blog to update you on events and review the meeting, so if you missed anything you can check it here. Thanks for all you support. Have a great Holiday and we will see you at the next meeting.
Next Meeting: Jan 14th, Monday 5:30....remember the new room!

Girl Scout Cookie Time....well, almost
Well, it's that time of year, almost.
Girl Scout Cookie Sales are almost upon us.
Remember please, when being asked, that part of the money from the Cookie Sales goes directly to the Troop of the girl selling you the cookies. That money is used to buy patches, craft supplies, go on outings and go camping. Everything that is good and honest and charachter building about the Girl Scouts depends on the money from the sale of cookies.
Brownie Troop 441 will begin their Cookie Sales on January 1st and end on January 20th.
The girls will also be involved in ONE booth sale sometime between February 9th and March 9th. I will update you on when and where once we have that finalized. Thank you all for your support of Girl Scouting.
If you have any questions about Cookie Sales, Brownie Troop 441 or anything else, please leave me a comment and I will get you an answer as soon as I can. Thank you again for your support!

December 10th Meeting
We will hold a special Brownie meeting tonight at the normal place, Eagles Landing in Ellettsville.
The purpose of tonight's meeting it the Investure Pining of new Brownies. We will have a special ceremony where all the girls, since this is a new Troop will receive their Brownie Pins. Also the girls who have made all the meetings so far have earned a Try-It Patch, and those will be awarded tonight also.
There will also be information about an upcoming Skating Party hosted by the district and snacks. Our January meeting will be extremely important that all the girls attend. There is a number of things I have to go over with all the girls, and we need to have Parent Permission slips signed before I can give the girls their Cookie Forms, which will be ready for our January Meeting! Also, I will need to have Parent Permission slips signed if the girls want to go to the District Skating Party.
Thank you parents, and I hope to see everyone at the meeting tonight!

Bamboo Needles
Okay, so it's Christmas time, and I decided at the last minute, as usual that I wanted to make something for Christmas. I taught myself to knit a number of years back, can't read a pattern to save my life, can't do a purl stitch, but I can do the basic knit stitch, which will make a fine blanket or scarf. Well, this year, I had been seeing all those fun yarns so I decided to try.
Well, this is the scarf I made for a friend for her birthday. It is this really light purple color and I used that "Fun Fur" yarn, which is like $4.99 a skein, but since it only takes two skeins to make it, that makes the scarf about $10, and you would spend that on someone anyday. Although lately I have been seeing the yarn on sale.
So I told my mom about it, and she mentioned that is might be nice to make my niece and sister-in-law matching scarfs, and then if I make them some I need to make my other sister-in-law one, and then since I am making them for that side of the family it would only be right to make one for my sister-in-law on the other side. Then of course, the girls saw me making the first one and they both want one....so that means that I need to do SIX of them for Christmas!
Let me tell you that fun fur is not the easist thing to work with by any stretch of the imagination! So, to get to the point of this whole blog....I was in the store yesterday and I picked up soem more yarn, and then I was thinking I could always use another set of needles. I was looking at the selection, you have your choice of steel, plastic or bamboo. Know I have had the steel and plastic, and of the two I like the steel much better, the tips on the plastic are too easily broken. I had read in one of my knitting novels about bamboo, and the idea in the story was that they were better. Well, the price was okay, they were only about a dollar more than the regular ones, so I thought I would try them.
Let me tell you! I am in heaven! I will never use another plastic needle again! The tips on the steel needles are very pointed, almost to the point of being sharp, which is nice for certain tight knits, and the plastic are not as sharply pointed, but theses bamboo are almost blunt compared to the others and I thought there is no way this will work, but after doing a few rows I found they were nice. The steel tips can make your fingers sore after awhile, but these bamboo needles flet so comfortable and smmothi n my hands, that I loved working with them! I am sold! In fact, I may never buy another pair of steel needles either, but I know for sure that the bamboo have become my favorites and I will be using them for most all my knitting.
Now, if I can just get those six scarfs done in time!

A Wicked Gentleman by Jane Feather
A Wicked Gentleman
by: Jane Feather
Book One in the Cavendish Square Triology
Set in the Regency Era in the London area, this is wonderfully crafter book, that starts with a mystery and espionage screen, only to move to the country estate and a wonderful tale of independence and love to begin.
The story revolves around three women, Cornelia Dagenham, her sister in law, Aurelia Farnham and their friend Liv Lacey. It begins with the unexpected inhertiance of a house in Cavendish Square, the desire to find a husband for Liv and the needs to get away from a heavy-handed father-in-law.
The country is at war during this time, and the espionage is a secondary stroy line, with the breaking of coded messages, spys and the like being woven into the tale of life on the town of that ear of London and society.
There are three intimate screens between the two main charachters, Cornelia Dagenham and a Viscount Harry Bonham, and although they are slightly graphic, they are probably no moreso than any other novel of this genere, it's just that it has been so long since I read a novel with any graphic intimate scenes at all in it, that I was caught a little off guard, so I skimed over those pages!
All in all, it is a great stroy, believeable charachter and the development of the relationships and the friendships between the three women, is great, you really feel you know and understand them and can agree with their reasoning at times.
Being that this is the first in the Triology called the Cavendish Square Triology and there are three women in the house on Cavendish Square, and that allow information about all the ladies is presented, Corneila comes to the forefront with her relationship with Harry Bonham, I am hoping that will mean that the other two books in the Triology will follow the other two ladies in the house. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series now.

EBay....
Here it is, six days into the month of December and I haven't blogged at all! What is up with that? Well.....
Tiernan has been asking for a handheld computer game for Christmas. He has mentioned the Wii and a PSP but we are not ready for that, not sure he will actually use them, he has a V-Smile that only got played right after Christmas last year. So we were looking into getting a used system at the local computer store. They have GameCubes for $40.
Over Thanksgiving, I talked with my brother, the computer guy, and by this time Tiernan had made it clear that he really wanted a hand held game. We were looking at the ads, and all that I saw was the DS Lite, and I am NOT paying that much for a computer game for and eight year old. My brother mentioned that he might like the older GameBoy Advance SP, that there are still games for it, and that it might be easier for him to start with.
So I call the local game store, and they have used ones for $60. I search online, and find no new ones anywhere, but EBay has tons and tons of them, and the starting bids are as low as 99 cents! Okay, so the bargain hunter in my is aroused and off I go bidding on eBay. Now I have a limit in my mind, at this point it was $30 including shipping. Well, that didn't last long, it soon increased to $40 including shipping, and now it is up to $50 including shipping. If it goes above that, then I could just as easily walk into the mall and get the one's here for $60. I just want to get them cheaper! But so far, I have been the lead bidder up until about 2 hours before the end, when I get knocked out. I did manage to finally get one at $48 today....
Now, since we decided to go ahead and get Maeve one too, I still need to win one more! So if you don't see me blogging, look for me on eBay.....I'm hunting Christmas presents!
